These days computer security is extremely important. In a typical business connected to the internet by broadband precautions can be taken on several fronts.

There should be as a minimum:

 

• a good SPI firewall
• regularly updated antivirus software
• regularly updated anti-malware software
• a backup system which
  • is used daily/weekly
  • includes removable data storage
  • off site storage
  • is checked for effectiveness and ease of restore

Its easy to skimp on security thinking it will never happen to you, but it can. Statistically a hard disk fails every second in the UK alone. Would you lose important data.
